Workplace tasks and competency sign-off
This course sets six workplace tasks the manager completes on the job, not just questions to answer on screen. They include asking two colleagues what you are like to work for on a difficult day, reflecting in writing on one real decision, writing a personal development plan against the Manager Induction Standards, logging three days of your actual time in thirty-minute blocks, delegating one task only you currently do, and completing an honest self-check against the signs of burnout. Each task states the evidence it produces, and that evidence feeds the Leadership & Management competency sign-off record your employer downloads and a senior signs.
How much does Personal Development & Wellbeing training cost?
£4 per person on Care2Learn, with no minimum order and no subscription. If your team needs a full training matrix rather than one course, a subscription at £2 per learner per month covers all 32 courses — see the 2026 price comparison.
Who needs it
Registered managers, deputy and aspiring managers and team leaders — the people who arrange development for everyone else and routinely go without their own. The course is aligned to Standard 11 of the Skills for Care Manager Induction Standards, and Regulation 18 expects those managing a service to be competent. Completion is recorded with the date taken and the date it is next due, so it appears correctly on your training matrix and can be evidenced at inspection.
What the learner receives
A certificate in their own name carrying the CPD Aligned seal, showing the completion date and the renewal date a year later, downloadable at any time. The record belongs to the learner, not just the employer — it travels with them rather than sitting in one provider's system.

Frequently asked questions
Is this course CPD Aligned?
Yes. The certificate carries the CPD Aligned seal and shows the completion date and the date the training is next due.
How long does Personal Development & Wellbeing training take?
About 60 minutes for the e‑learning, plus six workplace tasks completed over the following weeks.
Why does a manager need their own development plan?
Regulation 18 expects those managing a service to be competent, and Standard 11 of the Manager Induction Standards covers your own development. In practice a manager who has stopped learning becomes the ceiling for the whole service.
Does the course cover burnout?
Yes. It distinguishes burnout, compassion fatigue and moral distress, describes the early signs, and signposts support including your own supervision, a registered managers' network, your GP and any employee assistance programme. It is not a substitute for professional support.
Can this be used as evidence for supervision or appraisal?
Yes. The workplace tasks produce written outputs — a development plan, a reflective write‑up, a time log — that are designed to be brought to your own supervision and signed off on the Leadership & Management competency record.
