Leading & Managing in Adult Social Care training

£4 per person · CPD Aligned · no subscription required · certificate issued in the learner's name

Building a strong organisational culture rooted in values and held in place by governance. Leadership and management, values-based recruitment, developing your team, supervision and appraisal, speaking up, learning from things that go wrong, and evidencing a well-led service.

What this course covers

Workplace tasks and competency sign-off

This course sets nine workplace tasks the manager completes on the job, not just questions to answer on screen. They include translating your organisation's values into observable behaviours, naming three things your service currently tolerates, building a twelve-month governance calendar with named owners, gathering the evidence you could put in front of an assessor today, running a reflective supervision, and tracing one real incident through to a verified change in practice. Each task states the evidence it produces, and that evidence feeds the Leadership & Management competency sign-off record your employer downloads and a senior signs.

How much does Leading & Managing training cost?

£4 per person on Care2Learn, with no minimum order and no subscription. If your team needs a full training matrix rather than one course, a subscription at £2 per learner per month covers all 32 courses — see the 2026 price comparison.

Who needs it

Registered managers, deputy and aspiring managers, and nominated individuals in CQC-regulated services. The course is aligned to the Skills for Care Manager Induction Standards and supports the well-led key question, where CQC expects leadership, culture and governance to be demonstrated with evidence rather than asserted. Completion is recorded with the date taken and the date it is next due, so it appears correctly on your training matrix and can be evidenced at inspection.

What the learner receives

A certificate in their own name carrying the CPD Aligned seal, showing the completion date and the renewal date a year later, downloadable at any time. The record belongs to the learner, not just the employer — it travels with them rather than sitting in one provider's system.

Frequently asked questions

Is this course CPD Aligned?

Yes. The certificate carries the CPD Aligned seal and shows the completion date and the date the training is next due.

How long does Leading & Managing in Adult Social Care take?

About 75 minutes for the e‑learning, across 12 sections. The nine workplace tasks are completed in the service over the following weeks.

Does this cover the CQC well‑led key question?

Yes. It covers leadership, culture, governance and improvement, and how to evidence them. It is also honest that the framework beneath the five key questions is changing through 2026, and points you to cqc.org.uk for the current position rather than baking in a number that will date.

Is it suitable for a new registered manager?

Yes. It is aligned to the Skills for Care Manager Induction Standards, the framework new managers are expected to work towards in their first six months, and covers recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and managing performance.

How does it link values to governance?

Values are treated as observable behaviours rather than words on a wall, and governance as the system that checks those behaviours are actually happening. A workplace task asks you to translate your own organisation's values into behaviours and build a twelve‑month governance calendar with named owners.
