Employers now carry a proactive legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers, which includes harassment by colleagues, by managers, and by third parties such as the people receiving care and their visitors — a live issue in care work that generic office training never touches. Is Sexual Harassment Prevention CPD Aligned, and how is it assessed?

Yes — the certificate carries the CPD Aligned seal. The assessment is multiple choice with a pass mark of 70%; attempts are recorded and learners can retake it. Renewal defaults to 12 months from the completion date — your organisation can set 24 or 36 months per course — so it reappears on your training matrix when it is due.

Is sexual harassment training now a legal expectation?

Employers have a proactive duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their workers, and training is one of the clearest reasonable steps there is. A service that cannot evidence any preventative training is in a difficult position if a claim arrives.

Does it cover harassment by clients and visitors?

Yes, directly — because in care work that is where much of the real-world risk sits, and it is the part generic training ignores. The course covers third-party harassment, what staff should do in the moment, how it must be reported and taken seriously, and how it interacts with the person’s care needs without excusing the behaviour.

What does the course teach people to actually do?

Recognise the full range of behaviour that counts, including “banter”, digital contact and unwanted attention; respond safely whether target or witness; report through routes that work; and, for managers, handle a disclosure properly the first time.
